ANIMAL DRAWING CHALLENGE

This week it is all about the fluffy cuddly and graceful creatures of the world. This was alot of fun. The new sketch book I got can hold a alot of weight so I get to play with my watercolors!!!!! No matter where I moved my cat Solomon insisted on sitting on all of my art supplies till I drew him. So he made a few appearances in my collages.

Motion Gesture Challenge Tiny Dancers on my Aching Back

This weeks challenge was Motion Gesture drawing. This was alot of fun to make. I drew Sophie Lucias she is a little girl with unimaginable talent.  She dances like she has experienced life at least 3 times and has come to perfectly understand humanity. She hold the world record of 55 pirouettes in a row. So inspiring

I also drew Jane Russel and some other fun inspiring shimmy lovers

Falling into fall

Another week of adventure. The days are blurring by and I am just enjoying the ride things are just faling in place so well. Next week the action starts we have guest speaker David Krevolin coming into figure club to give a figure crash course! Then Ron Diamond visits with the animation show of shows ready to BLOW OUR MINDS! Year after year I think to myself this years show can't possibly top last years show.... and each year I am wrong. Future plans are buzzing all around me. They keep me warm as the weather get cold and the east coast falls into fall.

The carpel tunnel of Love

I can only explain the title of this entry as a expectation of what is to come. I am literally drawing everyday. More then I ever have in my college career. The first year of school I got carpel tunnel and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. It hurt sure but means I worked hard ... it was like physical validation of my late nights I bragged about it alot actually. That energy and passion feels like it's been reborn. My hands can't stop producing things. (BEST FEELING EVA) The fact that I have time to draw and do homework and run a organization is really crazy I don't know where I am getting all this energy but I am grateful....and  surprised at myself and a little proud. Somehow I am keeping everything together. I love what I do and this year I am indulged by loving people , art and good energy.

My best friend straightened my hair the other day and I did a self portrait

Reportage Drawing Challenge

Over the next 6 weeks I will be posting up these challenges as I complete them. This week I was doing reportage drawing. Reportage is drawing from life without lifting your pen off the page. It is one of those practices where you just stop thinking and glide your pencil across the page. I was really surprised how hard it was for me to relax and let go. When I finally got it I stopped judging ever line I made. It felt nice to have a clear head. This is a great practice.

Drawing feels good!

Moew

My Figure drawing club has really taken off since it's start. We had our first Sketchwalk last week and it was alot of fun. We visited the farmers market, the park, barnes and noble, and even the apple store. I am gonna trying some Reportage drawing tomorrow. I will post what comes of it. This was definitely a good week.  Now I will return to my bed. I will wrap myself tightly in a comforter with a bowl of cheerios and watch "Toddlers and Tiaras" while my cat  Solomon takes care of the house and tries to convince me to get out of bed and face reality.
